Vincent van Gogh and the Marijnissen collection
Vincent van Gogh wanted to use Whatman paper for his drawings and watercoulours. He writes to his brother Theo: “I should need brushes, canvas, watercolors and Whatman paper. If I told you it could wait, I should be lying, for it is absolutely necessary to have it at once. If it cannot, it cannot - but then I must stop working. And I should not have grown so melancholy even now if my bad equipment had not handicapped me so.” (Letter of september 27. 1883)
This watercolor and the watercolor with the farmerskitchen are on Whatman paper
