Vincent van Gogh
and the Marijnissen Collection
The Marijnissen Collection is (was) a collection of approximatily 250 paintings, drawings and water-colours many signed: ”Vincent”. The collection is discovered in 1939 in Breda, a city in the Netherlands, after the sale of the properties of Barend den Houter (1856-1940). Most of the collection was bought by Marijnissen (1899-1995) who considered the collection was early work of the hand of Vincent van Gogh.
